Golden State Warriors Dethrone King James, Crowned NBA Champs

The Golden State Warriors demolished their opponents in the regular season. They won 67 games en route to a 81.7% winning rate over the 82 game season. The Western Conference was tough once again, the top 7 seeds had 50 wins a piece while the Pelicans squeeze into the playoffs with 45 wins.

The teams in the East were a different story as the 38-44 Brooklyn Nets creeped into the NBA Playoffs. Three Western Conference teams would've claimed that spots with equal or better records. The Cavaliers practically pranced into the NBA Finals. Unfortunately for fans, the matchup was skewed in the Warriors direction as the Cavs would lose Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving. Without the All Stars to help an impressive and exhausted LeBron James, the team ran out of gas, and was outmatched by the depth and talent of the Warriors.

Stephen Curry was the league's regular season MVP but was left uncomfortable with the pesky defense of Matthew Dellavedova and the Cavaliers' high double teams. They were determined to force other teammates to make plays. Harrison Barnes and Andre Iguodala did just that. Iggy was inserted into the starting line up in Game 4 after the Cavaliers were up 2-1. That was the difference maker as the Warriors changed the tempo and outran the Cavs. Iguodala's rise to the occasion led to his MVP performances.

LeBron almost won the Finals MVP award while leading the losing team (7 votes for Iguodala and 4 for James). That hasn't been done since Jerry West did it for the Lakers in 1969, the first year the award was given. Nothing to be ashamed about for James. He has ruled this decade so far and has reached the NBA Finals five consecutive times.

An exciting 2014-15 NBA season has finally concluded with a victor. Although it's sad to see the end, it only brings anxiety and excitement for the fans whose teams were already eliminated. The NBA Draft approaches on June 25, 2015. After the Draft, fans can see the rookies play in the Summer League in Orlando, Utah, and Las Vegas[Find your favorite team's schedule]. July 1st will also bring the beginning of Free Agency and players will be on the move.
